MARIETTA, Ohio—Buffalo State sent a pair of 4x100-meter relay teams to the Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships today at Don Drumm Stadium at Marietta College, but neither team could advance to the Saturday’s finals.

The women’s team of Latoya Edwards (Brooklyn/Clara Barton), Taniqua Hollingsworth (Buffalo/East), Najia McGee (Rochester/Edison Tech) and Anika Niles (Brooklyn/Samuel J. Tilden) placed 12th of the 14 teams that completed the race with a time of 48.37 seconds. Only the top eight qualify for the finals.

The men’s team of Ray Peoples (Buffalo/Cleveland Hill), Keith Henry (Galveston, TX/Ball), Xavier Mateen (New Rochelle/New Rochelle) and Clarke Hinds (Floral Park/Floral Park) was unable to finish the race as a bad exchange of the baton on the last leg disqualified the Bengals. Willie Hordge (Buffalo/Forestbrook TX) was scratched from the race with an injury and will not compete as scheduled in tomorrow’s 100-meter dash prelims, ending Buffalo State’s season.
