Women's Lacrosse Ranked 19th in Final National Poll

The Bengals were ranked in the top-20 in the nation for the first time in school history this season

Buffalo State ended the season ranked 19th in the final national poll released by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), after posting the finest season in the program’s history.

Buffalo State broke or tied a total of 19 school records in 2009, including wins in a season, finishing 16-2 overall. The Bengals went a perfect 9-0 in conference action en route to a SUNYAC regular season title, before falling 11-8 to Cortland in the league’s championship game.

Jessica Walker

Women's Track and Field

The sophomore forensic chemistry major earned the honor for the second-consecutive week. Walker bettered her own school record in the triple jump, finishing ninth (11.66m) at the Division I Virginia Tech Final Qualifier on Saturday. Walker will be one of three Bengals representing Buffalo State at this weekend's Division III NCAA Championships at DePauw University.
