BUFFALO, NY—Cortland (13-6), ranked 19th nationally, defeated No. 18 Buffalo State (16-2), 11-8, to claim its 11th consecutive SUNYAC Championship today at Coyer Field, snapping the Bengals’ 16-game winning streak. With the victory, Cortland captures an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Cortland (12-6) sailed past Oneonta (10-6), 17-8, in the other semifinal.

Women's Basketball

The freshman dietetics and nutrition major earned the honor for the second time this season. McElroy averaged 19.0 points and 9.3 rebounds in a three-game week, including netting a career-high 24 points against Potsdam. She also had 20 points and 12 boards in a win over Plattsburgh.
