BUFFALO, NY—Kailyn Murray (Medicine Hat, AB/Warner Hockey School) scored twice to lead Buffalo State (5-6) to a 5-1 victory over visiting Plymouth State (0-8-1) in a non-conference game tonight at the Ice Arena.

Bri Murphy (Depew, NY/Lancaster), Alanna McMullen (Calgary, AB/Warner Hockey School) and Marissa McMullan (Haileybury, ON/Chingaucousy) also scored for the Bengals. Andrea Wing (Lakefield, ON/Lakefield District) had two assists, while Rio Flynn (Happy Valley, OR/Appleby College (ON)) and Katie Olejarski (Rockford, IL/Boylan Catholic) each chipped in one helper.

Buffalo State scored three goals in the first period and never looked back, adding one goal in both the second and third stanzas to secure the win. Bri Davis (Framingham, MA/Framingham) scored the Panthers lone goal just 27 seconds into the second period, assisted by Rebecca Fogg (White River Jct., VT/Hartford).

The Bengals owned a 32-17 advantage in shots and went 1 for 2 on the power play. Alyssa Koniar(New Berlin, WI, Univ. School of Milwaukee) had 16 saves in the win for Buffalo State, which extends its winning streak to three games, while Ali Ponte (Richmond Hill, ON/Richmond Hill) stopped 27 shots for Plymouth State.

The two teams will play again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
