BUFFALO, NY—Marissa McMullan (Haileybury, ON/Chingaucousy) scored a goal for the fifth-consecutive game, but it was not enough as host Buffalo State (7-8/3-6) lost to No. 3-ranked Plattsburgh (11-2-1/7-1), 4-1, in an ECAC West game today at the Ice Arena.

Teal Gove and Helen Giroux scored for Plattsburgh in the first period, and Chelsea VanGlahn and Amber Welch netted goals in the second frame to push the Cardinals lead to 4-0. Steph Moon picked up three assists. McMullan ripped a high wrist shot past the Plattsburgh goalie for the Bengals' lone goal early in the third period.

Plattsburgh held a 47-20 advantage in shots on goals. Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/U. School of Milwaukee) made 43 saves for the Bengals to keep the score close.

The Bengals and Cardinals will meet again tomorrow at 1 p.m.
