CASTLETON, Vt.—Buffalo State (7-7) had its winning-streak snapped at five games with a 3-1 loss to Potsdam (5-7) today in the championship game of the Castleton StateRutland Herald Invitational.

Marissa McMullan (Haileybury, ON/Chingaucousy) pushed her scoring streak to four games, netting the Bengals' only goal.

After a 1-1 first period, Potsdam pulled ahead with shorthanded goal in the second period, and added an empty-netter to clinch the win. Potsdam outshot the Bengals, 28-22. Alyssa Koniar (New Berlin, WI/U. School of Milwaukee) made 25 saves in the loss. 

McMullan and Koniar were both selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Buffalo State will host nationally-ranked Plattsburgh for a pair of ECAC West games next Saturday and Sunday.
