ECAC West Official Release

Buffalo State goaltender Justine Silva was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) west women's hockey goalie of the week on Monday.

Silva helped backstop the Bengals (3-0-1, 2-0-0 ECAC) to two-straight victories over the No. 9 team in the country, Utica, on Friday and Saturday.

She allowed just one goal in the two wins.  The junior made 20 saves in Friday's 2-1 victory and followed it with another 25 stops for her first shutout of the season in Saturday's, 1-0 overtime win. 

Silva is now 3-0-1 on the year with a 1.33 GAA and .925 save percentage.

Buffalo State travels to Potsdam this weekend to take on the Bears in an ECAC West season-series, beginning on Friday at 7 p.m.  The Bengals and Bears play again on Saturday at 2 p.m.
