HOW IT HAPPENED
- Princella McCullough (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) paced Buffalo State with 12 points, nine rebounds and five steals.
- Kaelee Lynch (Atwater, CA/Buhach Colony) netted a career-high 10 points with three 3-pointers.
- Buffalo State jumped out to an early 21-12 advantage on the strength of five first-quarter 3-pointers.
- The Red Dragons battled back in the second quarter and evened the score in the final minute of the half before the Bengals took a narrow 29-17 edge into the intermission.
- Cortland used a 13-0 run in the third quarter to take the lead and create some separation and never trailed the rest of the way.
